How can business visa be useful after marriage?
Q. I have Australian business visa, which is valid for an year. And after marriage I am planning my honeymoon to Australia, but now the case is my wife won't be having visa. What I want to ask is, will I be able to take my wife on my visa?

A. I believe a business visa is only good for you. If you want to take your wife with you, you need to apply her for a visitor visa. You can get an electronic visa for her online, check it out here This visa allows multiple visits in Australia for 12 months, with maximum of 3 months per visit.

How many times visitor visa can be obtained after one expires respectively?
Q. I went on visitor visa and stayed for six months renewing every month. The visa is expiringg within one week. Can I get another Visitor Visa and after how many days. My sponserer is ready. How many times this can be done.

A. Unless u can prove that u have serious reason to stay longer than 180 days then you can show to visa officials & they will change ur visa category. In a visit / tourist category they do not expect you to stay in a country more than 180 & would assume that you will return to your homeland to resume your normal life. So if I am visa officer I'd ask you first thing, why do u want to stay more than 180 days? You can have/apply upto 5 (10 in some cases) years of valid visit visas but maxium allowed duration is 180 days then u leave for at least 15 days to return back (but entry port officer can still be suspicious & can ask many questions). In the end all depends upon visa officer, but ur case will not be refused if u have genuine reasons… [cont.]

Visa required to work for a Canadian company while in South Korea as a tourist?
Q. I am a Canadian working for a Canadian IT company. I am planning on working for the same company while I travel to South Korea as a tourist for 6 months. I have consulted the Korean Embassy in Toronto, and they say that I do not require a visa in my situation. Can anyone confirm or provide additional details/advice?
Asked by sleep c - Sun Sep 14 15:04:38 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You legally have to apply for the E7 visa. This is for a professional non teaching position. To legally work and make money in Korea, you need a legal work visa. No matter if it's a Korean or foreign company. It would be the same if a foreigner came to Canada or America and worked for their countries company. They would legally have to have a business visa.

What visa should I get to move to the UK from the US?
Q. I plan on moving to the UK when I turn 18 (2 years) and I was wondering, I keep reading about all of these different visas and for different reasons. And to be honest it's really confusing. I was just wondering, what would be the correct visa for me to go to the UK and live there permanently? Or do I have to get a certain visa beforehand and then get a different visa afterwords?
Asked by Bob B - Tue Aug 11 04:38:40 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It all depends on the reason why you are wanting to move to the UK. At 18 you chances of getting any visa other than a student visa are very slim. You have to be 21 to marry a UK citizen and get a visa in that category. You have to have an advanced degree and relevant work history in same said field. You can have a relative petition for you, but it has to be a close relative like a parent or sibling. Those are about your only options. You can legally go the the UK for 6 months (not 3) But just be careful. If you tell the immigration officers you are going to stay for 6 months they may deny you entry. (your age and your single, and amount of money you have are reasons why) Good luck Belle

How easy is it to get a visa for studying or working in Mexico?
Q. I'm European, from an EU state. How easy is it to get a student visa (I have finished university, so would need to enroll as an independent student probably) or a work visa to live in Mexico? I would be interested in either studying or working for a year in Monterrey. If work visa is relatively easy to get, should I first get a job offer from a company in Mexico? I'm a bit curious if I should just start to apply for jobs - I'm afraid that hiring international people could be as expensive for the companies as in US... If anyone has got a work or student visa and permits as a European student, how much did they cost and how fast were they to get? What do I need before contacting Mexican embassy or consulate?

A. It is pretty easy I would guess, you just have to talk to a Mexican immigration/visa official.

How to change a tourist visa to a Religious R1 visa while I am in USA?
Q. I have a B1/B2 visa valid for 10 years. I want to change this visa status to R1 whilI am in USA. I am professional graduate in Religious education and had been ordained and in the occupation for the past 6 years in India.
Asked by Mo_Ara - Sat Dec 29 07:24:10 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If the person seeking R-1 status is present in the US in a valid nonimmigrant category (other than "visa waiver") the prospective employer may file an R-1 petition with the CIS. The application for R-2 status for family dependents is filed at the same time. The processing time for an R-1 petition varies between 1 to 5 months. You would not be able to participate in R-1 activities until the petition is approved because an approval cannot be assumed. Employee Requirements: The beneficiary must be qualified to work in the religious occupation. Ministers must have the required seminary degree and or ordination certificate. Other religious workers must document their commitment and experience through certificates and reference letters. The R-1 [cont.]

Is Visa Credit Card and Master Card offered by different banks is same centralise processing center?
Q. Does other bank know that I have a curent visa and master credit card from other banks? Will I be denied if i have italready?
Asked by Rheno - Mon May 3 09:24:13 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Visa and Mastercard are two separate systems, although many issuers are members of both systems. A bank will know what you have because they will purchase a credit report on you before deciding to issue you a card. You will not be denied simply because you already have a card. The new bank will assume you are applying because you are dissatisfied with your current bank or the terms on your old card. They hope you will move a majority of your usage to the new card. Most people have multiple cards. (The will deny you if you already have 10 or 12 but that's silly)

Q. My wife is a US citizen, I am British. At the moment we are living in the UK but are planning to move to the US in the future. Can anyone give me some advice as to what type of Visa I need to apply for to remain in the US permanently, and also the cost of applying. Thanks!

A. Your wife needs to sponsor you for a greencard. Information how to do so can be found on the USCIS website. It will probably cost about $2000. The application fees are about $1300, you need a doctors exam which may be $200-$400 and you might need some vaccinations. Then there are postage cost (registered mail, maybe fedex) and assorted small stuff. Going to the embassy for the interview and so on.

Can a US Visa holder apply for a temporary work permit or FM3 for Mexico?
Q. My husband is going for a wedding shoot in Mexico and I will be traveling with him because we're planning to have a short vacation after the wedding but most likely I will assist him some during the shoot if needed and we thought that instead of just a tourist visa, I should apply for an FM3 as well just to be safe. I'm not a US citizen but a valid visa holder. Is this possible? Thanks!

A. If your husband is an American and you are a Mexican citizen I would say yes apply for the FM3. However, there is a caveat to doing that, once you announce that you are in Mexico on a commercial trip you will immediately run head on into an old Mexican tradition called the "mordida". If you are of Mexican citizenship you know what I mean. In it's most liberal meaning...graft. Getting a permit to do anything in Mexico is not simply a matter of applying for it and paying the fee. There will be other "considerations" that will add to the cost in the end. 1st scenario to consider: If you do obtain an FM3 on the border, the local police, or federales of the city or town where the wedding shoot takes place may not honor the FM3. They won't… [cont.]

A. The quota for H-1 visas for 2007 has already been filled. I think you can start your own business and get a tax ID no for it, you just wont be able to be employed by your own business. However as long as that business pays it's taxes I'm fairly sure as the sole propreitor of that business you can spend the profits on whatever you would like, if you get my drift. I advise looking into the rules at uscis.gov.

How long does it take to obtain visa under employer nominated visa to Turkey?
Q. I would like to work in Turkey on employment visa. How long does it take to get a visa.

A. Very long. In fact so long that many people that work in Turkey don't bother and do visa runs instead, especially if they live in Istanbul. Of course that is only possible if you are a national that can get their 3 month visa on arrival at the border. Naturally if you can, you should get your employer to get you a proper visa eventually, but it may take very long to finalize, depending on the connections you employer has with various state offices.
