A. Don't panic. This is usually only a two day problem. Please see here for info about what you can do, and for a link to Yahoo customer care should you need it: If you have to send or receive email in the meantime, you can sign up for another email account and let your contacts know the new address. Here's the free hotmail one, if you haven't already got an alternative email address to use:

A. Unusual Activity, can mean a lot of different things. This could happen if you are receiving ---or ---(more likely) sending out huge amounts of large--video--pictures--z ip files, etc., that exceed the normal usage of your account ( or bandwidth)---thereby appearing "unusual". It could also indicate that someone has been trying to guess your password. After numerous incorrect attempts, Yahoo gets an alert and suspends the account to put a stop to the suspected hacking attempt. There are others, I'm sure. However, it would be nice if Yahoo would identify the "activity", that causes the suspension. Suspensions usually last 24 or 48 hours---then you'll be able to send the mail that's in your draft. If it's been longer than the 48 hours-- [cont.]

Q. My doorbell kept ringing late at night until I called the police a few days ago. Last night I felt helpless because a large homeless looking man was walking around my building so I was afraid to park my car at night and walk to my place. What can I do to feel safe?

A. Maybe get some pepper spray or a taser? These may give you some security. You could also take self defense courses. If your allowed, a big rottweiler will do the trick. If you can put security cameras outside the building so you can see what is going on out there. Or use a security service. take care and be safe!

A. No man or woman should be intimidated into not reporting suspicious activity . That makes the citizen a criminal and is backwards . Case in point . Right now there's a rape case where the judge has ruled that the victim cannot use the word 'rape' in her testimony . The judge said she could use words like 'sexual intercourse' . Hopefully this will eventually get reversed by a higher court , but for now this poor woman must say 'he had sexual intercourse with me' . That alone removes the crime from it's very implications . hehe .. . .Are you stocking-up on food ? I am .

A. bank account terms and conditions which are signed when you open the account and often have updates sent out with your statement gives them the authority to do this. The extent of the authority, the criteria for suspision/fraud and the actions taken on identification varies from bank to bank, for example when my debit card was stolen someone took it to 3 travel agents on the same day to buy foriegn currency. This was picked up by computer as being suspicious as normally you'd only buy from 1 travel agent (or in my case none as i tend to use a cash machine in the foriegn airport) so this was flagged to their fraud unit who rang me. Q. There is a car along my road which has been there since 9 o clock and it has 2 people in with a camcorder. It's an old car, a golf. So i'm not sure what to make of it.
Asked by alex.gould@rocketmail.com - Fri Aug 8 11:45:43 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. They could be criminals, scoping out a house for a home-invasion robbery. Or they can be private detectives, gathering evidence. There is no way for you to be able to tell. If you notice suspicious activity, report it to your local police. They'll send a police unit to investigate. Don't get involved yourself. In fact, as a government employee, I was trained on how to observe suspicious activity, and to report it to the police at once. For example, if I were to see someone taking pictures of a secured location, I have to assume they are scoping it out.
