A. Forty is so young. You're in your prime. I have traveled around the world (I'm 60) and I find that when I stick out my hand and smile I make friends every where I go. After I left Germany (I was a soldier) I maintained one of the friendship I made for 38 years. So, it's up to you. Go BE a friend and your "cup" will overflow. Ball room dancing (as the other woman suggested) is good. It "forces" personal contact. Play poker. It's difficult to know what you might want to do because ... no one knows YOU. What things interest you, which will bring you into contact with people? Then do it. Good luck

A. As well as the usual fundraisers try approaching the local businesses for a donation. I would write a letter in the first instance and then follow up with a phone call about a week later, youhave to be committed to get the money. I would also enlist the help of the local paper and see what donations you get froma story written in the local paper, especially mentioning that you are enlisting the help of local businesses :-) good luck!

Q. i would like to start an indoor recreation center with trampoline "rooms". does anyone know where i can buy the trampolines?
Asked by Pat - Fri Dec 11 17:59:49 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Well there is no other best way other than to go to online stores that specialize in selling trampolines like Trampoline Part and Supply or Willygoat Toyland. As I know, both of them has standard free shipping bonus and other extra bonus stuff. And the best part if you go to store like this is that they have various trampolines in different brands, types, colors, and sizes, including the spare parts. They also have the knowledge on all the "how-to" questions if you have one. So overall it is better than general store or online minimall where they sell almost everything, so it's impossible to ask specific question about specific product. There are brochures about trampolines that you can check here: and here: Good luck with your… [cont.]

What the heck can I do with a degree in recreation administration?
Q. It sounds like a fun major with alot of fun coursework! Careerwise though, it almost looks unprofessional and whimsical on a resume. I understand there are careers for rec administrations, but they are very broad and vague, ie. community recreation planner, corporate wellness program director, etc. I need some more information about these careers. What does one do on a day-to-day basis and how much is the salary?
Asked by samhandwich22 - Fri Jul 24 08:05:29 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Recreation administrators work as camp counselors or camp directors, recreation leaders, or directors of recreation and parks. Although specific duties vary by job and work environment, recreation workers generally plan and organize fun activities--from performing arts and sports to camping or arts and crafts.

Is there a difference between the college major of Physical Therapy and Therapeutic Recreation?
Q. I want to become a Physical Therapist when i grow up, and the college I am interested in attending has the major of Therapeutic Recreation. Is there a difference?
Asked by TheresaAaAa - Tue Apr 14 18:18:12 2009 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments

A. A physical therapy program is at the master's level. So, when you go to college you could major in therapeutic recreation and get your bachelor's degree. After that, you could apply to a master's program in physical therapy to become a physical therapist. Remember to keep your grades up because most physical therapy programs are highly competitive.

Can you camp overnight at the Oceano Dunes State Vheicular Recreation Area?
Q. I'm sure you can. But what I really want to know is do I have to take my car on the dunes or can I leave it parked somewhere and just walk to the Recreation Area to camp?
Asked by Duco - Sat Jun 6 22:24:13 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Day use is $5 and you can stay until 11 p.m. A camping pass costs $10. Summer is busy and you should make reservations early. Book online at: Or, call 800-444-PARK. YES, you can take your car on the beach. In fact, if you don't you will have trouble finding a street parking space where you won't be towed and you will have to walk one mile or more to the overnight camping area to the south. Your car should be suited for driving in deep sand (4x4, or at least high clearance and fat tires recommended). Make sure to park well off the tide--it comes up surprisingly far at high tide and your camp can be inundated! Air down your tires until they bulge out for better sand driving. Bring a tow strap, just in case. Someone will almost always… [cont.]

What can you do with a bachelor's degree(Career) in Recreation?
Q. I'm thinking about getting a degree in recreation. I love doing things outdoors (hiking, biking, running, etc..) Are there any good jobs out there with that I can get with that kind of degree? Can I get a job outdoors that makes at least a decent amount of money? Is there tough competitetion in this field? Thanks for any help.
Asked by runningirl1987 - Mon May 15 21:13:30 2006 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I think you'll have a hard time finding a job with a degree that has "Recreation" in the title. I just doubt it will carry much weight. If you're an outdoors guy, perhaps that should be the focus (as opposed to the activities you do outdoors). There are lots of outdoorsy jobs, such as Land Resources, Forestry, Fish & Wildlife Management, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), etc. I'm not sure how much they pay, but I know the government hires a lot of folks with these degrees to work in National Parks, so I'm guessing it's probably not too bad.

A. I believe that's why your going to college to come up with ideas of your own. I could give some to you but at a price. Research is what a lot of work folks just don't want to do on their own these days, you have 200 hours get cracking. Big budget cuts make for tough funding issues contact local corporation's explain who it's for perhaps they have community funds available to make your chosen project a reality Good luck

Asked by Pit Bull - Tue Sep 4 05:45:51 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. That's a user selected gamer zone. Quote from x-box official website: "Gamer Zone Your Gamer Zone is something you select yourself. Your initial choices fall into four categories: the Recreation zone, where casual gamers thrive; the Family zone, where parents and younger gamers alike can enjoy family-friendly gaming; the Pro zone, a place for hardcore gamers who don't want to deal with lame griefers; and the Underground zone, where anything goes (and where Family zone gamers probably don't want to go, if you catch my drift)." So basically you pick who and what type of people you will be matched up with.
