Are tax refund checks issued and mailed the day it is supposed to be directly deposited if i chose that option?
Q. I filed my taxes electronically this year. I received a message telling me that my return was accepted by the IRS. It also told me that it would be directly deposited on Feb. 20th. I opted for a paper check instead (I don't know why.) I was wondering if anybody knows if my check was issued and mailed that day or if I have to wait even longer? I actually just got my check today. Exactly two weeks after i filed. I'm psyched.

A. They mail the paper check one week later, so you have the week plus a few days for the mail to wait after the 20th. Probably March 2 thru 4.

How long is the new Florida Driver License Issued for?
Q. The old Driver licenses issued in 2005 and before were issued for 8 years. However, the state of Florida is so incompentant, they don't know how long their new driver licenses are issued for. On their various web sites the New Florida driver license with the picture of the old man is issued for 4 years and the new Florida driver license with the picture of the young man is issued for 8 years. And, since Florida doesn't know, their web site doesn't state the number of years.

Is the 1st time home buyer credit issued separately from the tax refund one would receive this year?
Q. Would like to know if all documents are sent as requested by the IRS to support the 1st time home buyer credit, will ones regular income tax refund be issued separately or included on one "check"? Has anyone thus far received the credit this year? What is the expected turnaround time for accepted returns? E-filing is not accepted for returns where you claim the 1st time home buyer credit.
Asked by thistlesnshamrocks - Fri Jan 29 15:30:23 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Your credit will be added to your refund. If you file early, you might get a check within three or four weeks. You will be better off filing electronically, and most taxpayers qualify for free electronic filing. Your refund will be directly deposited in about ten days or less.

Are you issued a new account number when a credit card company charges off your debt?
Q. Are you issued a new account number when a credit card company charges off your debt or is this a way of someone trying to attach a debt to you which you in fact do not owe?
Asked by Shanna L - Mon Nov 3 10:21:17 2008 - - 4 Answers - 1 Comments
A. If you do not owe the debt, then dispute it. If it is owed, then it stays on your credit report for 7 years. It may also cause your car insurance to go up because of the default.

What are the benefits and risks of investing in a mutual fund issued by an insurance company?
Q. There have been a lot of issues in the news these days regarding the trustworthiness of insurance companies. Are these instruments regulated by the government? If you are interested, you want a no load, no commission mutual fund. In my opinion, a great place for this investment is www.vanguard.com You pay a percentage of the money you make each year. For example, if your mutual fund portfolio is 10,000 they take about .25% of that, or twenty five dollars. Sorry that your aunt is trying to take advantage of you, but you need to tell her that you don't want to buy anything from a family member. How to get government issued Id and social security card after wallet is stolen?

A. Hopefully, it is very difficult to get repalcements--that helps to stop illegal activities using the things. As a wife, you can do little. Your husband will need his birth cirtificate, drivers liscense pay stub, and other such things and he will have to personally have to go to a Social Security office. In several weeks, he will get some new documents.

How do you determine how many stocks for a company have been issued?
Q. Whether held or in circulation, I was wondering if there was a formula or specific information available in stock research to determine how many shares of stock a company has issued.

A. Just go on any financial website, i.e. google.com/finance or yahoo.com/finance, and type in the stock quote you want to see. Look for the "shares outstanding", or anything like that, and that is the number of shares a company has issued to the public.

How do you find out the year in which a military uniform was issued?
Q. I have a ton of military jackets, pants, boots, hats, etc. Some inherited and some bought from a flea market. Where does it say what year it was issued?
Asked by OoGhiJ MIQtxxXA - Fri Apr 2 00:03:58 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It doesn't. Those uniforms are made in such surplus that they'll likely be sitting in a warehouse for months or even years before a soldier ever sees them. If you're talking about what year they started using said uniform, somewhere there will be a tag, normal clothing places, and it will have what type of uniform it is (ACU, BDU, etc.). This is where google comes in.

Are freeze warnings issued by the National Weather Service in the Northern US?
Q. I live in North Central Florida. In the winter, when the temperature drops below freezing, the National Weather Service issues a "Freeze Warning". The warning is similar to a Severe Weather Warning or a Hurricane Warning. It shows up on the bottom of the Weather Channel and local TV Stations. Because freezing temperatures are much more common in the Northern US, I am curious if a Freeze Warning is issued every single time it freezes there.
Asked by Robby M - Sun Dec 7 21:36:33 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Freeze warnings in the northern states are issued during the growing season (after most freezes are past) and often for first freeze in the fall. After winter weather sets in, freezing temperatures are expected most nights and warnings are not issued.

A re-issue is not possible since your previous passport has expired for longer than three years; you still should attach it to your application to ease up the process. Good luck! ..

A. I have been a tax accountant for 27 years. I can tell you precisely how you are required to handle this. You have two options: 1) On your 2007 return, on the face of the 1040, at line 21 ("Other Income"), enter the amount you repaid the insurance company as a negative number. This is not an itemized deduction, so that won't be a factor nor will the AMT. In space provided next to line 21, enter "repayment of insurance payment erroneously issued in 2006." Also, it would be a good idea to explain this in detail in an attached statement. Choosing to do it, also attach copies of any correspondence related to this issue and enter "see attached statement" next to line 21 (instead of the entry above). 2) Amend your 2006 return, following… [cont.]

A. A lien is on the property automatically. The county doesn't have to do anything.
