What determines what rifle you are issued in the Marines?
Q. From what I know, combat arms Marines are standard issued the M16A4 or the M4A1. How is it determined which is issued and what is most commonly issued? Also what determines if you are issued the M9 handgun and how common is it to be issued one? Thanks in advance!

A. snco and officer are no longer issued a pistol-they rate an M4 as their TO weapon. combat vehicle crewmen, recon, marsoc-they roll with M4s. infantry will have the M16A4, and most other deployable units have them now. per current policy, the only folks who rate a pistol (except for duty purposes like OOD or escorting AA&E) as a regularly issued item are the Battalion CO, XO, and MO.

Are tax refund checks issued and mailed the day it is supposed to be directly deposited if i chose that option?
Q. I filed my taxes electronically this year. I received a message telling me that my return was accepted by the IRS. It also told me that it would be directly deposited on Feb. 20th. I opted for a paper check instead (I don't know why.) I was wondering if anybody knows if my check was issued and mailed that day or if I have to wait even longer? I actually just got my check today. Exactly two weeks after i filed. I'm psyched.

A. They mail the paper check one week later, so you have the week plus a few days for the mail to wait after the 20th. Probably March 2 thru 4.

What does it mean when a duplicate title is issued for a used car?
Q. I'm thinking about buying this car from a second owner and when I did a carfax, it said this: Title issued or updated Duplicate title issued Should I be worried about a duplicate copy of the title? If I buy a used car, should I get two titles? I'm new to this whole car thing and imagined buying a car, getting a title and then having some guy show up saying he has a title too and that I'm driving his car. Thanks.

A. A duplicate title simply means that the original was lost, that's all. If a salvage title was "washed" through a state without a salvage title it would show up as being re-titled in a different state, not as a duplicate title.

Q. I was curious how long it would take to get a state issued ID in the mail, considering the photo and printing process, as well as any other qualifications the ID has to meet before it is sent out. Just a reminder, I'm not asking about a driver's license, I'm asking about a state-issued photo identification card. Thanks.

Q. If there are too many to name individually then just tell me how many have been issued. Thanks.

A. As mentioned, at least hundreds of thousands. Large, complex aircraft get more, and I know there are thousands on each of the older models of Boeing 747s, 737s, and 727s. So there could be more than a million, in all.

What is the process after being issued a citation for contributing to the delinquency of a minor in California?
Q. My son invited some friends over and it quickly got out of hand. Random people showed up in a matter of minutes toting alcohol which was shared to underage drinkers (<21). An unknown boy, age 17, was left behind and was very drunk. The police showed up and issued us a citation for being the homeowners. What happens next?

A. You will go to court on the date specified on the citation. If you have the funds to hire counsel, you should appear with counsel. If you do not, you should ask to have counsel appointed. You should discuss this matter completely with your attorney, and follow the advice of counsel.

What are the benefits and risks of investing in a mutual fund issued by an insurance company?
Q. There have been a lot of issues in the news these days regarding the trustworthiness of insurance companies. Are these instruments regulated by the government? How are these funds different from those issued by banks? My aunt is trying to sell me these funds and I want to know the whole picture. Wow, these are really good answers. Thanks guys.

If you are interested, you want a no load, no commission mutual fund. In my opinion, a great place for this investment is www.vanguard.com You pay a percentage of the money you make each year. For example, if your mutual fund portfolio is 10,000 they take about .25% of that, or twenty five dollars. Sorry that your aunt is trying to take advantage of you, but you need to tell her that you don't want to buy anything from a family member. How will you know that the Japanese driver's license issued to you is for manual or automatic transmission?
Q. I took the Japanese driving test for Manual transmission and fortunately passed. They issued my driver's license card but there is nothing written there saying it's for Manual Transmission even in Japanese character. Is there any Number code or something saying what type of license you have? Thank you in advance.

A. With the license you got, you can drive both manual and automatic transmission car, and there is nothing particularly written on the license. However, on the license which only allows you to drive automatic transmission car, it is stated that "AT ; limited to automatics ONLY", which is written under the expiry date.

How to identify the computer from which Print command is issued in LAN environment?
Q. In a LAN environment suppose there are 50 computers connected to each other and one printer is attached to all of them as a Network Printer. Now if someone gives a print command (say about 20 pages) how do I find from the printer who has issued the print command. Is there any software available that will print in every page the name of computer and/or its IP address. Please reply
Asked by Amit M - Sat May 17 08:52:09 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. That information is on the print server. If you have 50 computers on the LAN, you have a print server running somewhere. But it will be pretty tough to get information from the print server inserted into a document being sent to the printer. Depending on the print server, the software it uses and your ability to script, it may be possible write a script that inserts a new document into the print queue that prints out a report about the document that was just printed. That way each document would print, and then a printing report

A. Hopefully, it is very difficult to get repalcements--that helps to stop illegal activities using the things. As a wife, you can do little. Your husband will need his birth cirtificate, drivers liscense pay stub, and other such things and he will have to personally have to go to a Social Security office. In several weeks, he will get some new documents.

A. I have been a tax accountant for 27 years. I can tell you precisely how you are required to handle this. You have two options: 1) On your 2007 return, on the face of the 1040, at line 21 ("Other Income"), enter the amount you repaid the insurance company as a negative number. This is not an itemized deduction, so that won't be a factor nor will the AMT. In space provided next to line 21, enter "repayment of insurance payment erroneously issued in 2006." Also, it would be a good idea to explain this in detail in an attached statement. Choosing to do it, also attach copies of any correspondence related to this issue and enter "see attached statement" next to line 21 (instead of the entry above). 2) Amend your 2006 return, following… [cont.]

A. Its probably just a fix-it-ticket and you will have to show proof its fixed in court. However, you really should not intend on paying your speeding ticket, especially when they are so easy to get out of, if you know whats up.

If this is teh first time you are getting a paycheck from them, it may actually be a check. it usually takes one pay period to get direct deposit set up and tested with teh bank.

How does a person get rid of a warrant issued for failure to show up for a child support court appointment?
Q. My fiance failed to show up for his court appointment. It was a hearing about an order to show cause for not paying child support. A. You may be hung on this one. Child support does not go away. If it was me , I would try to get this straightened out voluntarily and not wait for them to come to me. If he is working, all you can do is suck it up and pay it. If you make some arraignments and stick to them, then you can get his license back.

A. You may be hung on this one. Child support does not go away. If it was me , I would try to get this straightened out voluntarily and not wait for them to come to me. If he is working, all you can do is suck it up and pay it. If you make some arraignments and stick to them, then you can get his license back.

How soon after speeding ticket is issued should my court date be?
Q. I was pulled over the other day and was given a court date of two weeks from Monday. I understand that if I wish to complete traffic school, I must do so before my court date... Usually court dates have been months after the initial issue date of the speeding ticket... Generally, how soon after a ticket is issued should the court date be and is there any way to call in and request it be moved? I'm leaving the country for 2 weeks during my court date and can't attend.

A. In Texas, and depending on what city, we usually have between 5 - 10 business days to appear before a court clerk. We can then either pay the fine for speeding, ask for defensive driving, or enter a plea of not guilty. If pleading not guilty they then set up an actual court date to go before a judge and give your side of the case. If I was you I'd either go to the court house, or look for a number on your ticket to call. Talk to a court clerk and get it resolved before you go out of town. Other wise you could have a warrant waiting on you when you get back.

How long does it take to get an edd check after they're issued the check?
Q. I usually mail out my claim form on Monday and receive the check on Saturday. I just called the automated system and they said they paid out on the 29th but haven't received anything yet.. I was just wondering if they've already issued the check then that means it's on it's way to me? Or can they issue the check and hold it for some reason? Thanks for your response!
