What's the latest on the Republican governors' promise to refuse stimulus money?
Q. There was a big to-do about Republican governors saying they would refuse federal stimulus money. What's the latest on that? Do you think it's a good idea? I live in Texas and oppose the stimulus, but since I'm paying for it whether I like it or not, I think our Republican governor, Rick Perry, should take it. Otherwise, the fed is taking my federal tax money and sending it into other states.

A. The problem with taking it is the strings attached to it. The federal government is not suppose to have that much input on how states govern.

About a dozen have been convicted of crimes while in office and some have resigned but some have not. Blagojevich is the first governor to be impeached and removed from office. Why are there vacancies in the Board of Governors of the FED at the moment?
Q. There are only 5 members on the current board of Governors and there should be 7. Why is this?
Asked by Michelle S - Tue Jan 27 11:18:45 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Because most of them have gotten appointments in Obama's administration, and the globalist banksters haven't filled the spots yet. They will soon, with Bushites, and Clintonites, all members of CFR. Until something is done about the illegal, unconstitutional Federal Reserve, globalists will continue to run the show, including the White House.

A. Ken, Get yourself an electric mower. NO noise problems and just as good as the petrol, noise squad. I have had one for 5 years and will buy another. Make sure you have an earth leakage detector fitted to your mains supply. They are as safe as petrol mowers, if not safer if handled correctly. No more running to the Servo to buy fuel.

A. The whole system is way out of whack. The States that have squandered their fortunes (including my own) should not be bailed out. Why? Because the only thing that could change the bad behavior is to hit rock bottom. I say, let them go broke. It is the only way the corruption and waste will ever be addressed. Bailing them out with more cash when no reforms have been made will only guarantee more of the same misbehavior. Expect to see the well connected become even fatter and the rest of us deeper and deeper in the hole. *

Should governors appoint interim Congressmen for those who are temporarily not fit for duty?
Q. Senators Ted Kennedy (D - MA) and Robert Boyd (D - WV) have both been out of any Congressional matters in the past few months. In my opinion, there should be interim appointments by their respective governors to vote on bills. We have a vice president to take care of presidential matters when he is not able to perform his duties, so why can't Congressmen have designated people vote for them? What do you think? By Congressmen I mean both Representatives AND Senators.

Why do the most liberal states in the nation tend to elect Republican governors?
Q. Hawaii Legislature: Approximately 90% Democrat, 10% Republican Governor: Republican Rhode Island Legislature: 90% Democrat, 10% Republican Governor: Republican Vermont: Legislature: 70% Democrat, 30% Republican Governor: Republican Massachusetts: Legislature: 90% Democrat, 10% Republican Governor: (they have a Democrat now, but four of their last five governors have been Republican.) California: Eleven of their last fifteen governors including their current governor have been Republicans. (but this one is hardly worth entertaining because California actually has a lot of Republicans in its legislature.)

A. Just because a governor is Republican does not mean he is a conservative Republican. Arnold Schwarzenegger is a Republican, but yet he supports the entire liberal agenda. Name tags mean nothing in this day and age, unless your a liberal Democrat playing politics. Have you ever noticed even though Arnold Schwarzenegger is a liberal doing business just like liberals do, liberal Democrats continually throw him under the bus to attempt to distance themselves from him and his failure as a governor in California ? When the truth is, he's governing with policies that would make any liberal proud. God bless.

Is it a crime to rig the election of the board of governors of a government funded college?
Q. A teacher at my college ran for election to the board of governors. Seeing that I had not voted, he pretended to be me, and voted for himself by using my vote. I have reason to believe that he also stole other votes as well, by this same method. He won a place on the board, by two votes. In UK law, was his act a crime and if so, what is the name of the crime, and what would be the statute of limitations on that crime?

Q. Why are these governors saying no to the bailout money when they NEED it? For example, the Governor of Louisiana said that his state does need the money. A. A resounding no ... They should be praised. Never does a Federal Dollar go to a State without strings attached. There will be many (unfunded) Federal Mandates put into the acceptance. Therefore leaving states to find money in the future (large tax increases) to fund what the Feds say they must do now. On the contrary...EVERY governor that accepts the funds should be impeached along with all of those that voted in favor of the stim-u-less bill. Some people will actually tell you that it's your tax money your getting back, which only makes sense if it were coming from a surplus not a deficit. Many people are allowing themselves to be bribed with their own money. How wise is that.

A primary weapon used by colonial legislatures in their conflicts with royal governors was?
Q. A: extending the franchise to include almost all adults white citizens. B: passing laws prohibiting the governors from owning land or industries. C: voting them out of office. D: using their power of taxation to withhold the governor's salary.

A. I took AP history this year and the answer is D. Type the phrase power of the purse colonial history into google and it should come up. The governor's salary was essentially paid by the colonies themselves, so if they didnt like what he was doing, they would withhold the money and the governor would comply.

Other former governors have been effective presidents. President Carter was governor of Georgia for 4 years. President Reagan was governor of California for 9 years.
