Asked by rbisdabest - Sat Dec 19 09:21:18 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. As you can see from the two posts before mine, "liberal" is an incredibly ambiguous word in economics. There are classical liberals (Adam Smith, Milton Friedman), neoliberals (including Alan Greenspan I guess, among others), and then there are "political liberals" like Krugman (agreed, he is the best example). Krugman's politics are liberal, but his economic views are best described as Keynesian (as opposed to New Keynesian, etc). So...like I said, this is a difficult term to really use, but the answers you've recieved above should help a bit in fleshing out the answer. Q. Can anyone list any high-level Economists who are supporting Ron Paul's monetary policy? Like college Professors and such who have come out in support of Ron Paul? Please do not reply simply with posts expressing positive or negative feedback for Ron Paul. I'm simply looking for information on high-level Economists who are in favour of him. Asked by SC1089 - Thu Jan 10 15:55:51 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. checked npm's link, there are economists there, but none of them are high-level. There are no nobel prize winners, no top-10 Universities. As far as I understand, Ron Paul is not seriously hoping to become US president, he is just using the race to gain recognition that he will use in Senate or Governor race later. So no "high-level" people of any profession support him. Rather, lower-ranking professionals support him to become less obscure than they are.
