I am wanting to make my home look like an 1880's Victorian/Texas home on a moderate budget. Help?
Q. I have looked in the western type magazines. Most of the stuff is too pricey.I am very Texas proud plus I love the late Victorian period. I live on a large farm in a one level home in nw Texas. Any ideas for inside or outside would be most welcome? Thanks. I am specifically interested in colors for my walls, materials, etc.

What would an income of 250 British pounds a year in 1880?
Q. convert to now? In american dollars? Would that be a middle-class income or would that person be relatively wealthy? Any bit of information would be helpful. This question really didn't seem to fit in the business or finance section so I thought I'd try my luck here. Thanks in advance. P.S. I have searched for hours on the internet trying to find an answer. I wouldn't ask if I hadn't first tried by myself.
